Another option might be to use the tray tool
I contacted support today. Was told they will not enable support for linux until v2.0 (where we will get native support afaik). Until then I was told they had made the above util, that will later be available on the download page.

The issue is caused by The pomodoneapp using and old version of electron. The app must be updated

I'd contacted Pomodone back in august, and they had no idea what the problem could be – while they quite obviously just had to recompile things. I don't think this package will get fixed any time soon.

I've updated it, but it still segfaults. Probably because of a difference in ABI versions or something.
